This particular white oak was made famous in the classic film "The Shawshank Redemption" and is best remembered in the scene where Morgan Freeman's character, Red, finds the money hidden by Andy, played by Tim Robbins, along the stone under the giant oak. The tree was struck by lightning and further damaged in a storm and had to be taken down.
